1. How the program works

The The Njainday Pullo Cham Memorial Foundation works directly with participating schools across The Gambia. Foundation representatives visit schools, meet with school leadership, gather information, assess educational needs and priorities, review budgets, and determine how available resources can provide meaningful support.

2. School participation and needs assessment

School leadership works with the Foundation to provide accurate information about the school and its educational needs. This may include enrollment information, school fees, supply needs, estimates, quotations, invoices, budgets, or other appropriate supporting documentation. The Foundation reviews the information before deciding whether and how to provide support.

3. Types of support

Support may include school fees, books, school bags, uniforms, learning materials, educational supplies, and other verified school or student needs. The type and level of assistance may vary according to the needs identified and the Foundation's available resources. A request or needs assessment does not guarantee that assistance will be approved.

4. Approval, payment, and accountability

Once educational support has been approved, the Foundation may pay the school directly, present an official Foundation check to the school, or pay an approved vendor or service provider directly, depending on the circumstances. Appropriate receipts and supporting documentation are maintained for accountability.

5. No participation fees

The Foundation does not charge schools, students, or families an application, participation, processing, or nomination fee for educational assistance. Please contact the Foundation if anyone requests such a fee on its behalf.

6. Privacy and publicity

Information collected during school visits, needs assessments, and Foundation activities is accessed and used by authorized Foundation representatives for legitimate program purposes. A child's name, photograph, video, interview, performance, or personal story will only be publicly shared with appropriate permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Families may decline photography, video, interviews, or publicity without affecting a child's or school's eligibility to receive Foundation support. Read our Privacy Policy and Child Protection & Media Consent page for related information.
